SG Studios is teaming up with Agape International Ministries (AIM) to minister and support girls in the Svay Pak region who have been victims of the sex trade. Eager for this opportunity, Shane Grammar has chosen a team of people to join him in Cambodia. Their journey is set to embark on April 12th. SG STUDIOS MISSION
SG Studios’ mission for their project in Cambodia is to reach out to girls forced into prostitution in the Svay Pak community by joining with AIM, an organization that rescues and starts the process of restoration with the girls in human trafficking. Shane, the project manager, anticipates the project and states; “I will be painting murals with girls from this organization (AIM), who are in the process of restoration. I just found out yesterday that some of the girls are actually still in prostitution and this mural project is just one way to reach out to them. Bring them joy and hope.”
SG Studios will put on an event to help raise awareness and funds for the trip and for the girls they will be working with. The event, titled heART for Asia, will be located at the Tower Theater in Roseville April 8th, 7-10pm.
At this exciting event, SG Studios will be welcoming members around the Sacramento community including business owners, gallery owners and local artists. Art will be displayed for auctioning. Also, Shane will do a live art piece, which will be auctioned off as well. It will be a night using the arts to raise awareness for the victims of human trafficking in Cambodia.
THE HOPE
SG Studios hopes to not only have fun and bring joy to the girls they will be painting murals with, but also to give them exciting new options for their future as potential artists. Shane states:
“We are excited to focus in on girls that might show a passion or skill for the arts. In finding those girls, strategically teaching them skills that can help them develop their talents further.”
By developing their talents, the girls will have the possibility to support themselves which could lower their risk of falling back into the sex trade substantially. “We want to bring them joy and hope,”
